Special Needs Harness

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) customers need to be approved through their provider before orders can be processed if you are wanting them to pay for them, otherwise you are free to purchase direct and seek reimbursement at a later date with NDIS.

Standard seat belts are not suitable for many passengers with special needs. The wearer is able to wriggle out of the seat belt or, into a position such that the seat belt may become dangerous.

These harnesses should only be used for users with special needs, they are not a substitute for standard seat belt or child restraint.

All State Governments require a medical certificate for the use of Special Needs Harnesses. We suggest discussing with your designated case worker who can work through the guidelines as set out in AS4370 Restraint of children with disabilities or medical conditions, in motor vehicles.

For optimum protection, our H Harness is used in combination with the fitted lap seat belt in the centre position of the rear seat. This strategic setup guarantees maximum safety for your child during the journey.

To cater to different needs, our H Harness is available in three sizes, suitable for both cars and buses – Small, Medium & Large.

No matter the vehicle type or your passengers age, we have the perfect fit to accommodate their growth and provide constant protection.

When selecting a size for the harness, it is important to consider that optimal effectiveness is achieved when the harness is comfortably snug. Ensure that all straps are positioned over bony areas rather than soft tissue. The chest strap should rest firmly across the centre of the breastbone, while the seat belt should be positioned over the wearer’s hipbones.

To provide adjustable options for customization, the harness features two sets of loops at the back for adjusting the position of the chest strap. Additionally, there are two sets of loops at the front to modify the position of the seat belt, ensuring a secure and tailored fit.
